Gayatri Sadhana

The Gayatri Mantra is one of the most powerful mantra practices preserved in the Indian yogic tradition. Its importance is not only in the words of the mantra, but in the effect of its precise repetition on the mind.

The mind is constantly moving. Thoughts, memories, impressions and reactions keep it in continuous activity. Gayatri Sadhana works with this movement through disciplined mantra recitation and gradually brings greater stability to the mind.

As the mind becomes steady, deeper layers of our accumulated impressions can become accessible. In the yogic understanding, these impressions influence how we think, react and experience life. Sadhana is the process of working with them consciously rather than remaining bound to the same patterns.

This is why Gayatri has traditionally been regarded as a mantra of profound inner purification and awakening. The deeper purpose is not simply to repeat a mantra a certain number of times. It is to understand the mantra, establish the right discipline and gradually experience what sustained practice does within you.

At Savitur, Gayatri Sadhana is taught as a structured process. You learn how to begin the practice, how to establish the discipline required for deeper Sadhana and how to progress after the initial practice.

The program includes:

  • Tri Sandhya Gayatri recitation
  • Gayatri Purascharan
  • Preparation and discipline for the Sadhak
  • Food and lifestyle requirements
  • Important cautions during Sadhana
  • How to progress after experiencing the effects of practice
  • Understanding and applying the deeper results of Sadhana in daily life

The complete method is taught during the program rather than presented here as a set of instructions.

Gayatri Sadhana is a 7 day online and residential program. During the program, participants follow a guided diet and lifestyle as part of the practice.
